Unbreakable Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children from birth through age 17 who have experienced foster care, trauma, instability, or other difficult life circumstances.

Why We Exist

Every day, children experience challenges that no child should have to face. Some enter foster care unexpectedly. Some experience instability at home. Others simply lack the consistent support and encouragement every young person deserves. While we cannot change every hardship a child has experienced, we can change what happens next.

By surrounding children with caring mentors, supportive communities, educational opportunities, and meaningful experiences, we help them build confidence, discover their strengths, and believe in what is possible. MEET OUR FOUNDER

James Rice-Peña

James Rice-Peña knows firsthand that one caring person can change the direction of a child's life.

After spending part of his childhood in foster care, James experienced the uncertainty, instability, and emotional challenges that many children continue to face today. Those experiences shaped his determination to build a life centered on resilience, hard work, and service to others.

As an entrepreneur, James built successful businesses while never losing sight of where he came from. Over the years, he became deeply involved in serving his community through charitable outreach, volunteer efforts, and partnerships focused on helping families in need. Unbreakable Kids was created from a simple belief: every child deserves someone who believes in them before they believe in themselves.

Today, James leads the organization with a vision of creating opportunities, restoring hope, and helping children build brighter futures through mentorship, compassion, and community support.
