Every Mission Has A Beginning.

Before there was Unbreakable Kids, there was a child searching for stability, belonging, and someone who believed in him.

My Story

My name is James Rice-Peña, and before I became a business owner, husband, father, and founder of Unbreakable Kids, I was a child navigating the foster care system.

Some of my earliest memories are of uncertainty. Moving from place to place. Trying to understand why life looked different for me than it did for so many other children.

Like many young people in foster care, I experienced moments when I questioned where I belonged and whether anyone truly believed in my future.

As a child, you don't fully understand trauma. You simply learn how to survive it. But even through those difficult experiences, I never stopped believing that my life could become something greater.

Looking back today, I realize that every challenge I faced helped shape the person I would become. Those experiences didn't define me. They prepared me

Choosing a Different Path

As I grew older, I made a promise to myself. I would not allow my past to determine my future. I worked hard, built businesses, created opportunities, and surrounded myself with people who challenged me to keep growing.

Success didn't erase my childhood. Instead, it gave me a deeper understanding of how important encouragement, stability, and opportunity can be in the life of a child. The more I accomplished, the more I realized something was still missing.

I wanted to create something that would outlive me. Something that would help children who were walking the same difficult road I once walked.

WHY I CREATED

UNBREAKABLE KIDS

Unbreakable Kids was born from a simple belief.

Every child deserves someone who believes in them before they believe in themselves.

Every child deserves encouragement.

Every child deserves opportunities.

Every child deserves to know that their circumstances do not define their future.

This organization exists to remind children that they are stronger than their struggles and capable of achieving more than they ever imagined.

My goal has never been to rescue children.

My goal is to help them discover the strength that already exists within them.

What "Unbreakable" Means to Me

Being unbreakable doesn't mean life is easy. It doesn't mean you never struggle. It doesn't mean you never experience fear, disappointment, or loss.

Being unbreakable means choosing to keep moving forward despite those challenges. It means finding hope when life feels uncertain. It means believing that tomorrow can be better than today. That is what I want every child to understand.

Their story is still being written. Their future is still full of possibilities.

To Everyone Who Believes In Our Mission

Whether you choose to volunteer, donate, mentor, sponsor a child, or simply share our story, you are becoming part of something much bigger than a nonprofit

You are becoming part of a community that believes every child deserves a chance to succeed.

The future of Unbreakable Kids will not be built by one person

It will be built by thousands of people who believe that one act of kindness can change the direction of a child's life.

Thank you for believing in our mission.

Thank you for believing in our children.

Together, we will continue helping children rise above adversity and discover the incredible strength already inside them

Our Promise To Every Child

At Unbreakable Kids, we promise to meet children with compassion instead of judgment.

With encouragement instead of criticism.

With opportunity instead of limitation.

We will continue building programs, partnerships, and relationships that help children grow into confident, resilient young adults.

Every child deserves to feel seen.

Every child deserves to feel valued.

Every child deserves the opportunity to rise.

"My past gave me a story. My purpose gave me a mission. Unbreakable Kids exists so every child knows they are stronger than their circumstances."

— James Rice-Peña
